160 character previews... I disagree!
No, Linda, I don't like the idea of the 160 character preview. It doesn't fit on a single line, so it doubles the length of every message list. And you can't decide much more from two lines than from one, even if you destroy formatting to crowd in more words.
I take some trouble to create a useful title for my messages, and the title I create (not like "Don,"!) should be enough. At the very least, the software should limit the material in the list to two lines of text, and be smart enough to skip the second one (and not waste good screen space) if it's blank.
I understand the concept of trying to skim messages, but if you think you're going to do it on the first couple of lines, when authors of messages don't realize that they're creating a title, you're wrong.
At the very least, Brad, make this one a configuration option, if you code it at all. Thanks.
