Depends on what you mean by "truly solved." While I agree that bandwidth chokepoints will be with us for a long time, until we all get fiber optics into our homes, in the near term there will be a huge increase in throughput. This will be through satellite-based caching systems and, later, through DSL. See the WAVO thread for the sky caching idea. Although these are band aids, they are 5 to 10 year bandaids. All of this is just IMHO of course.
