Just came back from CompUSA

This report ain't pretty for you Iomaniacs. There were NONE, ZERO, NADA, ZILCH, NO built-in Zips in ANY of the 40 or so Wintel computers INCLUDING the 2 Sony models. Iomega should bend over and kiss Apple where it counts, because this was IOM's only saving grace with 2 out of 4 G3 models, and 3 out of 6 regular models (all the most expensive) with built-in Zips.

There were of course no External SparQ's, no discs, and the Internal EIDE SparQ's looked picked over in the 2 locations they enjoyed. Iomega Zip 10-packs were $129. Syjets were also picked over.

On the subway ride back home, I noticed the gent across the way was reading the Circuits Section from The New York Times. Big Full page SparQ ad on the back of the section.

I urge everyone on this thread who lives in NYC to visit the CompUSA on 38th and 5th Ave to see what I'm talking about. Pay close attention to the wonderful assortment of Wintel machines, NONE of which have the Iomega Zip drive installed--"the next floppy Standard."

**As a side note, I noticed that a worrisome number of Wintel tower computers had strange trap doors, blinking lights, hidden sliding panels (Sony), lift-up covers to CD drives, etc. What morons would think this crap is good or cool? Lame. Really lame.
