This is similar to an idea that I've talked about before on other threads. I'm not sure if I mentioned it here. If you exchange common stock for preferred and/or warrants that mature at a future date then you can reduce the float AND get commitment from shareholders to leave their money invested for an extended period of time. Some bean-counter will have to do the math to figure out what would be a good conversion ratio and how long a time period, but the basic idea looks pretty good to me.
