Phase one testing will begin on the previously drilled Soviet well ES1. The
ES1 well is on the Sarata complex within the Belolessky block in
southwestern Ukraine.
There are ten previously drilled Soviet wells in the Sarata complex which
refers to a series of structures that includes Rosov, East Sarata and
Yaroslav. In addition an undrilled structure named Rybalske occurs to the
north. The Ukrainian State Geological Reserves Committee estimates that the
Sarata area contains 167 million barrels of oil in place.
Odessa is actively collecting and processing acquired data and concurrently
building a dataset to present to select joint venture candidates.
