Company Press Release

ObjectShare Reports Strong Demand for Newly Released VisualWorks 3.0
Software

IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 19, 1998--ObjectShare Inc.
(Nasdaq:OBJS - news) Thursday announced that it has initiated new
shipments of its VisualWorks 3.0 software, following
higher-than-anticipated demand for the product.

Introductory shipments of the software began in late February and
quickly depleted existing inventory levels.

VisualWorks 3.0 is ObjectShare's next-generation product suite of
powerful Smalltalk tools for developing portable, object-oriented
client/server applications that can be distributed or deployed across a
network or the Web.

The new suite includes enhanced parcel technology, enabling developers
to create faster and more powerful applications, while eliminating the
need to separate programming code manually and then maintain the
multiplying independent components.

More than half of Fortune 100 companies currently utilize ObjectShare's
Smalltalk software for creating, deploying and distributing network
client/server applications.

Additional new features in the latest VisualWorks release include the
ability to create more compelling, flexible user interfaces, a Windows
95 Look component, improved core libraries, a THAPI library to enable
programmers to create more scaleable applications, and a business
graphics library. VisualWorks 3.0 add-on products are scheduled for
introduction later this month.

''Developers who have used VisualWorks will always tell you how easy it
is to develop applications using VisualWorks. VisualWorks 3.0 makes
deployment of applications supporting and the production environment
easy, too, with the use of the new parcel technology,'' said Vinay
Mutha, senior consultant at Dynamic Consulting.

''Response from our customers has been overwhelmingly positive,'' said
Eugene Goda, ObjectShare's chief executive officer and president. ''Our
strategy has been to provide our customers with timely technology
enhancements that keep pace with the demands of today's fast-changing
and expanding network computing environment, and VisualWorks 3.0
satisfies many current needs. We are pleased with our continued progress
in making ObjectShare the Global 2000's top choice in object-oriented
solutions,'' Goda added.

ObjectShare (formerly ParcPlace-Digitalk Inc.) is a leading provider of
object-oriented programming solutions for networking computing.

The company offers complete client/server/Web application development
tool sets for both Java and Smalltalk development that support open
computing, portability and industry standards for distributed and
