Eclipse

I like to hear the whispers of your love
and feel them bring your kisses to my ears.
The sun attracts the lover moon and both
conspire to dim the light inside the room.

I also like to tell you of my love
but, silent, think the secret words I hear
are river streams running in remote places,
or notes delivered by a distant flute.

I like this final touch, when full of love,
our shadows lean against the wall, where I
become the moon that slowly hides the sun,
forgetting that outside the morning blooms.
