Pat, In your example, if we were getting multiple actions (trades, upticks and downticks) every minute, then I'd go to the range established before the 2:32 range and find out whether 3.781 was a bid or offer. It's not exact but rarely do the MMs match a buy with a sell. It's like following footprints in the snow, only with so many 'buys' there isn't one left print for every right print, more like a person walking with a seeing-eye person. And keep an eye on things today. It looks like we closed yesterday at the low but actually the offer had just been raised to 1/32 from the high offer of the day. Maybe we're approaching the eye of the hurricane. WH
