Just read an article in the paper this morning concerning a drug that slows breast cancer. The drug is called XELODA and is administered in pill form. Hoffman-LaRouche is the drug maker. Article states it works in slowing tumor growth in 20% of patients. Article also states that there are not many options for breast cancer treatment after Taxol. This appears to be good news for Lgnd but few on the street will be able to figure it out. Does anyone know why Lgnd doesn't get their good news like the breast cancer rat results to be covered as a news item and not a company press release?
