Chaz, I glad someone else reads about the history of technology and science. There is a pretty good book published recently that discusses some of that and the effects of technology in general. "Why Things Bite Back: Technology and the Revenge of Unintended Consequences" by Edward Tenner I recommend it. There is a good section on computer based productivity. Thure
