The problem is execution and Marengi has been on the job more than 6wks! Spending 100 million on TV advertsing isn't the way to sell the product! Spend a fraction of that on VAR incentives! Its not name brand recognition Novell needs. It doesn't need full page advts in Time or Ladies Home Journal. Anybody spending advertising dollars on those vehicles should get the Gary Gilmore treatment. They understand that in Utah. Marengi has been in sales for awhile. If the new products do not sell then Marengi should be assigned the Russian Far Eastern market for Novell and be given command of the SS Vladimir Lenin out of Vladisvostok. When he goes down with that ship at least he will know where he is going. As to big industry deals involving multiple partners with Novell to "beat Microsoft", I believe that is illegal and you probably heard it from the tooth fairy.
