With respect to your comment -- "After the Crucifixion, Jesus spent the rest of his life
in utter obscurity in a monastery." Explain this to me for I thought it was historically
accurate that Jesus had died.

According to Dr. Spencer Lewis' book (probably "The Mystical Life of Jesus"), it was mentioned that Jesus was indeed buried after the Crucifixion but that his physical body was recovered by his mother and faithful followers, during a storm, unbeknownst to the Roman soldiers. He was found unconscious. But, as he was a highly spiritual person, he was able to get well rather quickly. Unfortunately, after 25 years, I no longer remember all the details. It seemed that at the Ascension, the wound marks were no longer visible. This was interpreted as either the wounds had healed after 40 days or what was seen at the Ascension was a psychic or spirit manifestation of Jesus.

It would appear that the Roman soldiers never knew the body was removed from the "sepulchre". Today, there are people who believe that what is now recognized as the burial place of Jesus was not the
actual 'burial' place.
