In case you missed it:

Odds stacked high against
The father and his son,
Out in Oklahoma City
As the clock is winding down.

Orange sphere resting in
The baseball player's hands
As the heart rates rise
Among the people in the stands

Pump fake once to
Get the defense in the air.
Pass is launched that has
The feeling of a prayer.

Twin brother watches from
The far end of the world.
Wonders if he has a chance
To catch what's just been hurled.

Leaps high to grab it
As the clock begins to wind.
Familiar streak of gold is
Now approaching from behind.

For an instant only
it remains within his grasp.
Then he tosses it behind him
With the quickness of an asp.

Fate then guides the ball
Into the shooter's zone.
Back in the driveway
He has practiced this alone.

Catch, step, gather,
As the seconds disappear.
Shot now sails high
Into the stratosphere.

Arc travels downward
It is heading toward the rim.
All eyes everywhere
Focused just on him.

Twin is fluttered
As we hear the buzzer sound,
Mobbed by teammates
As he falls unto the ground.

David slays Goliath
And the Bible says it's true.
And Bryce has brought
Great victory to Valparaiso U.

Poem by Greg Karas, Valpo elementary school teacher.

Go Valpo!!!!!
