I read through SEC filings and Yahoo messages. Then read ATCO SI thread [partner in HSS technology]. Found them thru searching the name CARVER under 'full text' search with SI. Also checked out press releases at the Carver website and those listed under their symbol CAVR on Yahoo. I used to think they were are bargain at a buck. Now I am wondering if they are worth a quarter. Tariq says that company claims everything is rosey.

That is hearsay. Sure would like some hard evidence to support it.
SEC filing is the key. Then they will need a new strategy for 98-99, that doesn't include HSS. Buyout is a possibility, but nobody is going to buy a company on its way down. They are going to wait until they are sure the bottom has been reached.

Volkswagon made some great cars a while back, but they have had to completely start over to compete with todays market. Carver is in the same place. Boston Acoustics makes great speakers for a low price. In the seventies, there might have been 20 good amp makers. Now there are probably 500 GREAT ones. The best thing they have going for them is name recognition, which I agree has an enormous value.

Nobody is going to buy this company for under 10mil. That is for sure. And with that tiny float, it is worth careful attention. One big marketing deal or major management plan and this one is back up over a buck or two. But if they are considering the ol' "rs" or if they aren't paying bills, the down side could likewise be steep.
