Pat,

Usually, a spread will only move 1/2 the distance of the spread at any time so it's either the bid/offer of one spread or a neutral on the other. Like I say, it's so rare that the MMs actually match a trade that I call it the bid/offer rather than the neutral. Maybe that explains the computerized trades as well.

Maybe those 42k trades were stopping up the system. They looked like a buy and a sell to me. Go figure.
