The last time I took ten Maple Leaf coins (1 troy oz each) out from my safe deposit box to sell to a Bank of Nova Scotia, I was told by the Bank that before I could get my money, the coins had to be "analysed" (oh, my God, what B.S!) to confirm their authenticity.

Now, from your post, I think I know what they meant by "analysed". It seems it is nothing more than using the specific conductivity test to ensure they are gold, is it not? Or is there something more than this?
