Alan, agree with your thoughts re. advertising. In my opinion, the TV ads not only cost too much...IMO, they suck. The two "airplane" ads suck completely. None of the people in the ads stand out as interesting or likable. The one person in any of the ads most likely to buy Zip is probably the kid who's Mom is trying to exile him to military school. And...where's the SEX???!!! I don't see a very clear target market for the ads. A while back someone here said little or no Zip info was being included with the OEM built-ins. No wonder the tie rates are slipping. IOM could at least include a colorful folder along the lines of 101 reasons why you're going to be glad you bought the computer with Zip built-in. FIs!!!

We're getting close to the time when Iomegans used to predict quarterly profits. Since we've been advised there will be NO profits this go-round how about seeing who can come the closest to nailing the Actual "$10-25MM loss." I think IOM was looking at a -$10MM number when they made the announcement, but seemed to be saying anything could happen in the next few weeks. If "s" is to be believed (I think yes) then I think we will see a much smaller loss (this makes the HUGE assumption that KE isn't redecorating all the offices).

My WAG: $4.5MM loss. What's yours.....?

BTW, if you're out there Linda, let us know if you're planning to attend the annual mtg. I'm sure we could come up with a few hundred things for you to check on! :-)
