Re: H-P & Java -- My #1178 turned out to be fairly psychic about what was actually in the WSJ article, which its server has now been kind enough to let me read. My take on the impact of the story remains the same. One additional note: Java was originally invented to run on a consumer device, a TV set top box. The present full-featured version is too big for this, but if a stripped-down version is needed, SUN can easily produce one.
