David- I read at one point a post you made which comcluded SVGI could indirectly benefit from Intel's release of Merced(.18 u) later this year, as referred to in a press release. I did not read the press release as specifically saying Merced would be released then. Is this confirmed by other news? I haven't been keeping up with the Merced story. However, this press release states "Intel Corp (INTC - news) on Thursday at the CeBIT trade fair presented a simulation of its next-generation ''Merced'' processor and demonstrated an array of computer chips due for release later this year." biz.yahoo.com I would interpret the "array of chips" as not to include Merced. I'd previously thought Merced wouldn't be out until 99 at best. BTW, thanks for your posts here - they've consistantly been well thought out, and made available information I wouldn't have otherwise had.
