Some nice Telecom articles in the latest SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN (April 98) including one covering Iridium, Globalstar, ICO, Ellipso, ECCO, etc. It does mention the fact that Iridium will provide Pole to Pole earth coverage whereas the others would seem to have some geographical limitations. Has anyone been catching the CNBC coverage? They sound like they are being paid by Loral; keep saying how wonderful GSTRF is including spelling out the stock symbol and that they've ALREADY launched 4 birds, yet they completely ignore the 49 IRIDF birds up there, 5 more on the pad, etc. Is there some major problem with IRIDF meeting operational status this Sept. or so?
