Bob, you will find that this is not a very active thread. Most of the posters on SI are interested in high tech stocks. Since Spartech deals with plastic, it is not perceived as a very exciting company and unfortunately does not receive a lot of attention.

Although, I have been out of town the past few days, I did check the newspapers and cannot explain the recent rise (at least from a news standpoint). The daily ups and downs of any stock can be somewhat mystifying. A few years ago, when Spartech was putting boffo numbers on the board each quarter, the stock price went nowhere. Management at the time was relatively new and maybe Wall Street was somewhat skeptical and wanted to see some consistency. Since this their 25th consecutive quarter of sales and earnings growth, maybe the Street is in the process of giving the company a higher valuation. Only time will tell.
