To all, SAFETY IS WHAT REALLY COUNTS, and NVX has shown from their trials that they have by far the SAFEST DTaP vaccine out there. All the other DTaP vaccines essentially did no better than to cut the incidence of the side effects, whether they be mild or severe, to a lesser number than what is now attributed to the whole cell vaccine now in use.NVX has only reported the mildest side effects.
If you happen to see the report on National TV last nite covering the polio vaccines , Oral vs. IPV, you would better understand the pressure the CDC has been under to stop allowing the use of the oral polio vaccine altogether. Why? The SAFETY issue. I think they said that an average of 10 kids a year in the US are stricken with polio and that number could be reduced to ZERO if we just stopped using the oral vaccine. As you are aware the CDC has only gone part way and the special interest groups aren't going to accept that. As they said one case of polio is one to many when we know how to prevent it.

WOW, Now apply that thinking to where NVX stands with their DTaP and you have got the picture on why us longs think NVX will dominate this part of the vaccine market some day soon. Now throw in DTaP-IPV in '98 and they will OWN the market. All just IMHO. :-}

There is just a very good chance that on friday alot of pediatricians at the Boston Conference will be coming to the same conclusions as Abbott did. NVX HAS A GREAT STORY TO TELL.
