Market Makers(NAZ)take ask and bids as they come in, list them as "best" but are not restricted by those. They manage the price such that they can accumulate or distribute at will certain issues. The specialist only matches buyers and sellers therefore eliminating "some" of the manipulated practices. How they stand to gain is unknown to me. Could you please expand on this? Thanks! seczebra
