Gary,

I think this ECO issue means absolutely nothing, and will have no bearing whatsoever on Ascend's ability to ship product.

ECO's are extremely commonplace, and are often as simple as adding a resistor or jumper wire. While this particular one sounds slightly more significant it should be of little concern.

Secondly, Ascend utilizes several contract manufacturers each manufacturing different product lines. So to state that Ascend cannot receive "parts" and hasn't since last week sounds like a gross overstatement. Jabil manufacturers the Cascade product, Plexus ?? ,
Without knowing the specific assembly(s) its impossible to determine
any potential impact.

Finally, regarding "you know they had planned to back-end load the quarter" is contradictory to statements made by Schneider and Ashby that visibility was greater and that the quarters were going to be far more linear than they had been in the past. I think this quarter was in the bag 3 months ago!

I know you are just passing on information you received from a friend, but I see nothing here to cause concern.

Regards,

Larry
