>>NetValue Checking Details
The rate on our NetValue Interest Checking Account is 3.00% with a 3.05% annual percentage yield. Rate accurate as of January 1, 1998. Minimum balance to open account and obtain rate is $100. A monthly fee of $4.50 per statement cycle will be charged. Monthly fee waived if combined deposits in your NetValue Interest Checking or your Money Market Account, or both, is $10,000 or more. Only personal accounts of less than $100,000 are eligible. Fees could reduce earnings. Interest rates subject to change at bank's discretion.<<

Having to have a balance in excess of $10,000 is as ludicrous (IMHO) as the $4.50 monthly fee. Unlike banks of old, these guys have no mortar/bricks/tellers/paper/postage/etc. - thus much less reason for the fees 'normal' banks charge.
