Shorts for the most part are not long term investors. They are smart enough to get out of a position when it turns against them instead of burying their heads in the sand and praying as most long term bulls do. The only place a lot of them will scurry to in this case is the bank to deposit the money that used to be yours. The only shorts that lose consistently are those who try to pick tops just as investors who try to pick bottoms do.
