This lone golfer (a walker), goes to tee off on a "water" hole, picks an old ball out of his bag and as he is teeing up, a great old rumble from the sky is heard and a great old voice from above, says: "don't be a chicken, hit a new ball"....
Golfer, startled, and looking around for the "voice", takes the old ball, puts it back in the bag, and gets a brand new one and tees it up.
He addresses it getting ready to hit it.... rumble again, and the old voice says: "don't be stupid, take a practice swing".
Humbled, and still looking for the source of the voice all around, he sets away from the ball and takes a practice swing.
Old voice comes again, and says: "you'd better get that old ball out again, sonny". |
