Dick: I'm always in favor of options that can be turned on and off, to customize the experience, as long as it doesn't get too foppish.

The first package I published had just the right amount of customizability with an astoundingly clear interface, but the second one went over the top, I think. Still, Steve Wozniak endorsed both, the only Mac software he ever endorsed, so it wasn't that bad. Customizability would be a good solution to the issue of how many characters we can preview. I don't scan very often, either, and I'm not sure which option I'd select if I had such an option, but I might well select the increased character option.

I have arrived at a solution to the first line problem on my own notes, as you can see. I am glad you brought it up.

Perhaps there's a way to ignore the strident demands of a very small minority for an ignore button. Let me know if you think of one. :-)

Actually, the problem doesn't recur on the Fonar thread any longer. Some of these characters have gotten suspended so often, it's gotten almost courteous over there.
