Mang,

Having followed your posting for the last year or so in both BAY's
and COMS boards I was a little bit surprised to read the following:

> 1. It has a really good brand-new line of Enterprise products.
> Its soon to be released CoreBuilder 9000 can forward 56 million
> packets/sec. Does BAY has a next generation of Accelar to
> compete with this beast ??? BAY Accelar 1200 is equivalent to

Bay Accelar can forward 7MPPS, the CoreBuilder 3500's own Data Sheet clearly indicates:

> Switching Performance
> Max forwarding rate: 4 million pps
> Max multicast/broadcast forwarding rate: 4 million pps
> Average latency: 10-30 æsec

Instead of talking about CoreBuilder 9000 you should be looking at PE-484 from Packet Engine's instead, those guys in Spokane,
Washington have had nothing else to do than to work during the
cold and dark winter months....

Willie, wasn't he the guy who said that Foudnry's switches were the best in the industry...... where are they now?

FYI The Super Stack II 9000 has striking similarities to Extreme's
Summit 1 Layer 3 switch, I would advise for you to go to COMS website
and look up the SPEC sheet for the Super Stack II 9000 and compare it
to Extreme's Summit 1 Switch.... check both products data sheets and
compare the dimensions as well as the placement of the LED's power
consumption and such, why are they so similar???

There is no difference COMS, CSCO or BAY, all of the real innovators
of the industry will eventually leave and join startups, and develop bleeding edge products, hoping to be acquiered by one of the BIG
4!....

BTW Hardware integration is the easy part... porting CISCO IOS is a
different story.... I wonder if Stratacom's switches are making use
of CISCO IOS by now....

Happy hunting....
