I, for one, believe you. I look at stocks like Goth etc and see
way undervalued plays..when they are out of favor..they look dismal..
people with deep pockets are probably just salivating..
anyways..haven't had as much time lately to check out some charts
ie Merrill Lynch and GE for two to see what they are saying about
the general market..
also don't know enough history to know how long small cap stocks
run before the end
also really interesting times..as long as the market moves up and up
the Clinton presidency is assured..but don't know what kind of international influence he has right now and don't know how much of
his staff is preoccupied with his difficulties rather than with
national and international policies..
the crush on oil prices has all sorts of implications..if Russia's
infrastructure is so fragile..these prices certainly will cut into
their ability to supply down the road..
don't know the figures of how much they supply to world
also since the majority of US citizens own their own homes..what does
that spell down the road when the wealth effect of the market is wiped
out..
also most are probably resting easy that the market should continue
until end of IRA savings period..market usually goes contrary to most
"assumed surethings"...
also if market starts tanking badly, even if Clinton were as pure
as snow..people would probably start piling in against him and then
wouldn't that add to a further slide..
also in past 15 years hopes were pinned on the Asian Miracle..maybe
we should call it mirage..as a huge driving force for global economy..
Nike's projections among others certainly suggest the current fiasco
is not a drip in a bucket..
also have no idea of the long term effects of US being practically
just a service based economy..
the disparity among the wealthy and the middle has probably not been
seen in decades..
as I posted before, heard that 21 million americans need food supplements..
read in times that some homeless workers were getting paid 1.50 an hour..one, the article said even was used to replace a supervisor
temporarily outsick or something like that..(guess we shouldn't just
point finger at Indonesia and Nike for instance)
Also with end of cold war, world politics have drastically changed
and who knows who is allied with whom and where all the instruments
of devastation are winding up...
On the positive side technological advances are growing by leaps and
further leaps, wonder if Gates and the Internet can keep this thing
going..also Internet and technology are probably stimulating a lot of
young minds who were dulled by passively watching television..another
incredible plus in my book..
