When computers replace trading pits, in commodity exchanges and equity auction exchanges, what will happen? First, the pit excitement will not be available. Next, the computers have to que the activities of buy and sell. Pretty much as watch the ticket tape in the old days rather than be on the floor of all the trading pits.

The advantage is you have much more activities happening all at once instead of only a few stocks or commodities receiving most of the attentions. Computer chart of a 1 minute interval intraday chart can tell anyone the one stock or commodity action in the pit, so to speak. If replication or mirror or reflection memory works fast enough, realtime charts is the pit in action. How to get realtime fast enough through T3 transmission with so much data? That is another story. But the story is for long distance carriers to have more relay stations to divert excess traffic to less congested routes. You could be watching NYSE stock and get the transmission through Kenya, os Siberia. So, lets get more satellite relay stations around the world.

Other than that we will need more windows/computer to show us many stock charts in action all at once. Computer business never ends. We need more and more monitors on our desks.
