Business customers are pleased with the present level of performance, and hence unwilling to pay the customary premium for the last 10%. To an extent this is also true of home customers, although there are exceptions (3-D game fanatics for one).

What will drive demand in the future? Hmm....NT will increase the minimum acceptable memory size, but has no effect on CPU demand. So I guess I don't really know what will drive the business guys to upgrade.

Of course, the DRAM glut is mostly the result of overbuilding during the last shortage. The fact that PC DRAM demand is not growing as fast just adds insult to injury.

BTW, I noticed you made a comment about Device Bay in your article. How do you think this will affect Adaptec?
