Another interesting issue that arises (if you work in the technology side of Y2K) is that a lot of companies (including blue chip) are using highly paid teams of consultant programmers and analysts to sort out their Y2K problems.

Call me cynical, but if you are a highly paid consultant, and have worked out that by using an automated solution such as ALYD you can sort your clients problem out pretty quickly, what are you going to do?

In my experience, some of the more unscrupulous guys are extending their over-paid consultancy projects, and will no doubt bring in the ALYDs of this world at as late a point as possible. Some of these guys are on œ1-2k a day, but in the real world you would struggle to pay them to wash your car.
