Bill, The Commodore 64 was an "open platform." It was also a shoddy platform. The consumers lapped them up like puppies after warm milk. Nobody today is claiming that the standards set by Commodore were anything more than a flash in the pan. Tomorrow's standards will wash out today's flash in the pan. The Macintosh PPC has ownership of the performance mantra. The Macintosh PPC OS 8.1 has the superiority mantra. With increasing consumer awareness the potential for "steam powered" growth at Apple is exponential. Don't knock steam. Remember, even NUCLEAR power utilizes steam. Good hunting, HerbVic, JAAO
