Uh-oh. I wonder: does Jane like to cook? She does talk about food and eating quite a lot. Could she be persuaded to share her favorite recipes? The potatoes with fennel sound good. I have only one question: what in hell do you do with the actual fennel bulbs afterwards? Here they come trimmed, so in order to realize six cups of greens you'd have to buy about 20. Maybe more. I DO like fennel, but... As for phallic veggies, the only thing around now is asparagus, and in my view, at least, its erotic possibilities are limited. Though perhaps one could get some mileage out of the means of eating it. Ostrich eggs? Spectacular, I should think. There is some cultivation of ostriches in Italy, but I've yet to see the meat on any menu here. And it really is quite good.
