Hi Bobby
Long time no see. Thanks for bringing this one to my
attention. I have to admit I haven't done much checking
on it but I will. I know alittle something about feeding
livestock but very little on the other aspects of this
company. Feed cost are by far the biggest expense when it
comes to raising livestock. We feed afew cattle as you know.
If you can cut feed cost you can usually make money. The next
biggest expense we have is death loss. Control those and it
can be very profitable. Livestock will eat just about
anything if it is ground and mixed, even feeds that they
otherwise wouldn't. As an example we are feeding some alphalfa
ground hay that the cattle won't eat when we put it out for
them in the bale and are doing quite well on it. It is mixed
with a certain amount of grain and by doing so we have feed
we would normally not be able to use. I also have a friend
that has access to bread, potato chips and by products from
a Quaker Oat factory. He also feeds afew cattle and rarely
buys much grain and his cattle look great. I guess what I'm
trying to say, if a company can recycle feeds and can sell
reasonably it can be quite profitable for all concerned. If
anyone doesn't think livestock feed isn't big business just
go by the big feedlots and see the trucks lined up to unload.
Reguardless thanks for the info and I'll be back when I get
some things checked out.
