In addition to Console One, Novell plans to announce this week a new version of GroupWise. Novell also will spotlight key strategic partnerships at Brainshare. The company is expected to join the 64-bit bandwagon with the launch of its Merced project. Scheduled to be announced jointly with Intel, the Merced project will deliver a new 64-bit operating system. In other partnership news, Novell and Oracle will expand the initiative they announced at last December's Internet World conference in New York. One Novell executive said the company plans to "bring Oracle's application environment in an easy way to Novell users." Sources said the company also will announce a partnership with Compaq. infoworld.com
