Sorry to mention Warren Buffet again, but I keep wondering why he bought all that silver, and especially why he's taking delivery of it, actually building secure storage facilities for the stuff. That has an almost apocalyptic feel to it. And he avoids tech stocks, likes simple themes...maybe he's been reading the analysts who say it's a really risky, bad idea to convert to the euro at the same time you're converting to the 21st century, and he's buying a sort of simple, precious metal insurance policy against the possible economic fallout from that potentially dangerous combo.

Or maybe that's just one factor in the decision. Especially of the somewhat odd decision not to buy paper, but to store the metal itself.
