You know, human nature being what it is and all, it's hard not to imagine that whatever disasters the normal changeover to 1/1/2k will bring will also serve as a cover for your basic disgruntled employee to do his or her worst. A high tech version of shooting somebody during the fireworks. If this New Jersey techno-whiz had timed his software bomb to go off when the ball dropped for the new millennium in Times Square, maybe he'd have been back at the company on January 2.

If I had the money, I think I'd buy some silver and a barn. Well, maybe one of those little aluminum sheds painted like a barn.

Cheryl, in my 15 minute window, I read the office manager story. A classic. Scripts are being written right now about The Night of the New Millenium, and a story just like that will be in every one.
