I was not at all surprised to see the first downgrade.
The price has moved extremely fast for a company this and
one that is so widely held. I wonder who has been selling.
(We must always remember that each trade has a buyer and
seller and look at the trades from both perspectives).
It must be some of the people who held shares from the
spinoff and institutional shares changing hand. Also, people
who are happy with the rise.
If you are long-term, it doesn't mean anything. I don't think
the tax implications and costs of trading make it worthwhile to
sell a winner even if you know that it will drop ten or twenty
percent.
A drop of ten points would not be unheard of given the sharp run
up. If we see more down grades, the stock could drop more.
Then maybe, we will see up grades and more buyers.
I love the stock but have learned that no stock is perfect. You
should of heard one of my friends talk about Iomega as it went
up 2x, 3x, 5x etc. He didn't sell and much of the gains got
wiped out. All because he let his emotions take over(I am not
really comparing the stocks just the possible problems with
over-enthusiasm.)
