I just recalled where I read about the huge capacity for satellite multiplexing. It was in a book called "Hidden Signals On Satellite" by Harrington. I remember also that this book stated that tens of thousands of long distance telephone calls are placed over the satellites. The author stated that he had plugged in a shortwave receiver into the baseband output of his satellite receiver and actually listened in on calls being place via satellite. He also talked about the great capacity of data services and predicted that KU-Band would be the "band of the future". The book was probably written in the late-80's. Mike
