Stuart... As far as Altamira is concerned, they're done. In Feb of last year Altamira purchased 1M shares at $0.60. At the same time a favorable article was written by Mr. Steven Katmarian in the Investors Digest(a Canadian publication). The stock soared to $2.05. During this period, Altamira sold 230,000 shares into the volume and put a little change back in their pockets. The market peaked, and people asked..."Why's it up here?" Realistically, It shouldn't have been hence the correction. So to make a long story short, they were left with 770,000 and now its gone. I spoke to Mr. Craig Porter, Analyst at Altamira shortly after seeing the 430,000 crossed at $0.27 and asked him if there was a problem that would have lead to this sell ticket and he explained that is was due to the fact of fund redemption time and when the fund runs short, they turn to the jr's to liquidate and cash up. Unfortunate??? well sure, nobody likes to take a lickin when they are down. It creates a sense of unnecessary panic. Bandwagon material. Will Altamira look at Caldera as a potential reinvestment in the future? He said they would consider such an idea. As well, more fundamentals will also be established in the not too distant future... My outlook? Well i think that there are other fish to fry in the big sea of institutional funds. Were working on this at the moment. For instance, L.O.M.(Loewen Ondattje McCutcheon) is a brokerage firm based in Toronto. Big institutional clients, international offices. We met with their mining analyst last week while i was on the road in Toronto. She liked what she saw very much and invited us to present the company to the institutional sales team the next time we are in town. The outcome in a favorable sense would lead to the salesmen introducing us to the Institutions, their clients. The rest would become history. We look forward to such an invitation and plan on this sometime in April. I hope this sheds light on your wonders,...
By the way the Mr. Steve Katmarian, the writer of the article mentioned above, has just moved from C.M. Oliver to Merit Investments, Toronto. He was swiftly promoted as the VP Institutional sales position. I urge all of those following this thread to call him and open an account. He's a man who knows his stuff and with the new position will have plenty of "sold" deals to offer his clients. He can be reached at 800-616-8858.
Hope you all had a great weekend. See you in the market!!!
