The modem fiasco was another reason to swing the stock price of COMS the last six months. The short term investors like it (especially the shorts!) because of the big swings. I don't worry about it too much because I understand the Company and it's products and markets.

Fortunately I have much more in Cisco. IMHO once the dust settles on the merger and V.90 gets flying cash flow will be just fine for 3Com.

I am not worried about Compaq or Intel hurting 3Com to much, there is just too much room in networking (new areas opening up every day). I don't think PalmPilot revenues are a big factor one way or the other. I just hope they can stay focused on networking!

My gut feeling is that Eric B. has worked his tail off this last quarter to smooth out the merger problems. Being an engineer I really like their products and IMO expect them to get back up to full speed by this fall.

I keep crunching the numbers and I'm still a long term investor here.If we get an earnings pop and the CC is good the stock will pop back to its Nominal PE.

regards

Eric
