I will reiterate that RS by itself is not useful. But a change in RS is very useful as to the short term direction the stock is taking. If the EPS rank has been revised upwards and the RS has been creeping up one can expect the stock to pop up. It is true that with high RS stocks can still fall. But if one looked at when the stock starts to fall is it normal fluctuation or start of a correction. In a correction the A/D would start falling from A to B, the RS would remain same at first and then start falling. The Timeliness starts moving down too. A/D and timeliness will probably change faster than the RS and it tells if major players are trying to exit faster.

Recently PFE had an RS of 89 and this weekend it moved to 90. now watch this move towards 99. A correction would take it back down.

My aim is to provide a list of stocks that are going to move faster than others whether up or down. Most 99ers have moved down. Some ex 99ers ABF, DELL, CPQ

The aim was to correlate the movement of stock and movement of RS, S/D and Timeliness and to profit from their short term movements.

This is NOT a perfect technique, but so is not any other technique used in trying to gain an edge in the market. We all realize and know that, but do not vocalize it in every post. Occasional comments like yours keep us in perspective.
