A little bit to inform you of PDVSA's oil exploration activities (from their web site): The activities carried out in the exploration area, are the riskiest and most determining aspects of the hydrocarbon industry. Their sucess defines this industry's remaining and extended development. Exploratory efforts are primarily focused on the search for new reserves of light and medium grade crude oil for the expansion plans to increase production capacity. Also important is information found concerning potencial development of prospective areas. Seismic programs and exploratory re-entry are also effectively carried out. This has resulted in the addition of 306 million barrels of crude and 76 billion cubic meters of gas to proven and probable reserves. The exploration work mentioned has placed the Corporation's crude reserves at 66 billion 328 million barrels. Gas reserves rose to 24 billion 748 million barrels in oil equivalent.
