James, I've been thinking about that rumor of a POC deal with HP.
This possible deal with HP definitely makes sense, although I would have thought Roche would try hard to get this area to add to their electsys.
The question I have is 100 million realistic? Only if the area of POC HP wanted is carved out as an exclusive license, and HP was aware of Roche's (and others) interest. And if HP believes that POC is a giant market if they do it right. If they design the instrument correctly so that the ongoing regulatory concerns of hospital and doctor labs are taken care of, I can see an instrument like this in every ER, ICU, and certain other departments.
At this point, I do not know how to value the potential for POC, but am trying to gather info. If the deal is this high, then someone certainly has an idea. If it is HP, then I would say they know what they are doing. ( By the way, even a 35 million deal would be great).

Now if there is a pending POC deal, what areas does it cover, and is it exclusive or not?

One other thing, this thought of 100 million would be one of the biggest deals in biotech history, I have to doubt it is that much, but James, I will, like you enjoy it for what it's worth.
