Saudi Arabian has been pumping oil as much as they can since the start of this latest crash in oil prices. They are determined to battle for market share and use the oil glut to teach other producers a lesson. As far as I know, Saudi Arabia is the only OPEC producer that has significantly restricted their production in the past to try to maintain the price of oil. Iran is now starting to whine that the oil glut is a hateful conspiracy against Iran. Iran is starting to feel the pain. I hope the moderates in power are able to use it to their advantage in their battle with the conservatives. Iran's main-grade Heavy hit a nine-year low last week, trading below $10 per barrel, compared to $17.15 a year ago and a 1997 high of nearly $22 a barrel. nando.net Charles
