Palisades Center,
West Nyack, New York
MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 20, 1998--RAINFOREST CAFE,
A WILD PLACE TO SHOP AND EAT(R), opened yesterday in the
Palisades Center in West Nyack, New York. The opening marks the company's
second New York location and seventeenth overall.
RAINFOREST CAFE at Palisades Center is a 24,000 square foot, 420- seat
restaurant and retail adventure with 5,400 square feet of retail space. Two
cascading waterfalls adorn the entrance of RAINFOREST CAFE located at the south
entrance of the mall.
Walking into RAINFOREST CAFE, one is enveloped by lush vegetation, simulated
thunder and lighting, rain showers, majestic rock formations, Tracy the Talking
Tree, whimsical butterflies, animatronic crocodiles, playful animated primates and
elephants, along with the sounds and smells of a tropical rain forest, all set
amongst a backdrop of enormous salt water aquariums, cascading waterfalls and
larger-than-life Banyan trees.
Entering the dining area, guests walk under a 7,000 gallon archway aquarium full of
vibrantly colored saltwater fish. Three additional aquariums are situated
throughout the facility. RAINFOREST CAFE a Palisades center hosts a full bodied
animated baby elephant standing five-and-a-half feet tall and eight feet long
situated next to its mother, whose nine-and-a-half feet tall torso appears to be walking
out of the rain forest.
The restaurant features an assortment of casual dining menu items for the entire family
including pastas, salads, signature sandwiches and delectable desserts. Guests
can order smoothies, freshly squeezed organic vegetable and fruit juices, and refreshing
drinks with or with out spirits underneath the 35 foot Magic Mushroom
Juice & Coffee Bar.
RAINFOREST CAFE's Retail Village offers an exclusive line of clothing, caps and
jackets featuring the eight RAINFOREST CAFE animal characters.
RAINFOREST CAFE Retail Village also offers a wide variety of rain forest themed
items from around the world, including RAINFOREST CAFE private label
bath and body products, colorful puppets, plush toys, RAINFOREST CAFE food

RAINFOREST CAFE's Retail Village is open 10:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Sunday-Thursday, 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 midnight Friday and Saturday. The dining room

open 11:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 11:00 a.m.- 12:00 midnight Friday,
10:30 a.m. - 12:00 midnight Saturday and 10:30 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. Sunday.
