steve, i thought lu were supposed to report yersterday, but i didn't see anyhting yet. for the current year, starting october 1, they were estimated to make about $2/share. att got rid of them because they were losing money for many years, at least when they were with att. they make some good equipement, chips, fiber, a lot of stuff in many fields, not specialized. may be that's their problem. they are not focused on one area, do a little of everything from materials to chips to boxes to software. but they're too small to do everyhting, they're about the size of cpq, but they were the same size 10 years ago - no growth so far. i have a phone from 15 years ago, still works, but they can't make much money on things like that. joe |
