See if you can build a PC with performance equivalent to a 300MHz G3 at any price. Don't make the mistake of assuming that a 300MHz Pentium II is equivalent. It's not. The simple fact is that the notion that Macs are much more expensive than equivalent PCs is hogwash. See: mackido.com. As I said in a previous post, I work on a PC all day, five days a week. I am well acquainted with the platform. It is inferior to the Mac in almost every way_and the performance gap is rapidly becoming a yawning chasm. Bob BTW, re: innovations.
